Good words to remember:

"To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did."

World's Longest Married Couple

As someone who is about to be married I love this story. I read it on YourTango but just had to pass it along here.

Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher of North Bern, N.C. hold the record for the world's longest marriage. Herbert, 104, and Zelmyra, 101, have enjoyed 86 years of wedded bliss. …Herbert and Zelmyra, married in 1924, enjoy sitting on their front porch and counting cars.”

I hope to be as lucky!

Nature's Beauty

This photo made me gasp out loud!
Stunning.

Create Your Own Happiness...

I know it might sound a little cliche, but I think its something that, in this crazy day, we need to be reminded to do. Sometimes it might seem like a hastle to get off of the couch and get out, but its worth it once you get going.

Here's a little inspiration:

I am lucky enough to know a really amazing woman. She came to this counrty many years ago and got a great job with the movie studios as a seamstress. She also got a not so great husband who really tried to hold her back. Fortunately, she knew she had the power to create her own happiness, and she didn't let anything stop her. In a time when a lot of women in her culture didn't work or even drive she went out to work at a job she loved every day, took driving lessons and even bought her own car! And she managed to raise two lovely, intelligent boys all by herself.

Today she is about to turn 70 and still going strong. Last week I saw her at a party. She had just gotten back from a month long trip to Ecuador and was sharing photos of another trip earlier this year where she was riding a camel in front of the pyramids in Egypt! She showed us all of these great photos while giving my 20 year old sister tips on how to use an iPhone!

The point is- you can't let things like work, family, culture, lack of knowledge or age hold you back and you can't rely on someone else to make you happy- that's too much pressure for somone else and you will almost always be disappointed. STOP PUTTING IT OFF or placing blame. JUST GO FOR IT. Create your own happiness... and then share it. I would love to know your stories.
